Hi All.
Due to the update in the Covid situation the committee has met over social media and decided that we will be reopening the Federation for specimen claims from 1st April.
Please remember that The travel restrictions are still in Place till the 12th April.
Lets hope this is the last of the lockdown situations and we can fish normally for the rest of the year.

There are no new rules or changes in specimen weights for the coming season.
Subscriptions have stayed the same again this year.
As previously stated, our Treasurer Sadly passed away in the autumn and we passed on our condolences to Pauline's family on behalf of all in the SWFSA.
We have found a person who is prepared to take up this role. This will need to be ratified at the AGM but we do not see any issues with this. The affiliation forms have been emailed out to current members.

Welcome to all, whether you’re a keen and dedicated angler, a wishful armchair fisherman, or you’d just like to keep in touch with the wonderful world of fishing.
We aim to offer our members a one-stop-shop for essential information, fishing news, tools and useful links to aid you in your angling pursuits.
If you’re not a member through your fishing club and you Fish within the Federations boundaries, you can join as a personal member. Membership fees are just £10pa, which includes our handbook and entry into competitions. Get in touch for more details and to join!
We are a non-profit organisation with over 30-years of history. We aim to promote and encourage sea angling and to provide a body that will serve affiliated clubs and personal members.
Our Club membership boundary runs between Bristol and Weymouth, extended to included the Channel Islands and the Isles of Scilly. Personal members are welcomed from outside of the club boundaries.
Our fishing boundary covers the southern banks of Severn Estuary, Aust Ferry, Severn Bridge all the way around to the South East at Hengistbury Head in Dorset.
Members of affiliated clubs and personal members are entitled to all of the privileges of the South West Federation of Sea Anglers, including the right to enter any competition for cups, medals and prizes offered by the federation. There are separate categories for personal and junior members.
The Federation can offers clubs a reasonably priced public liability insurance to cover anglers while fishing. club events. This is currently available for £80pa, due 1st January.
The Federation runs a fish of the month competition throughout the year. This is awarded for the best specimen registered, boat and shore. Also, for the best junior specimen registered overall.
Certificates are also awarded for every specimen fish recorded. These are presented at the AGM/Presentation night.
With the addition of accepting fish weighed afloat a reminder was given to the membership that all Fish that are submitted for Federation awards must be weighed on Certified Scales
Trading Standards in Exeter was suggested as one of the most cost effective ways of acheiving this.
